Alma J. White, 1913-2003, West Plains
Alma Jennie White, 90, of West Plains, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at Brooke
Haven Health Care in West Plains.
She was born Nov. 29, 1913, in Trail, a daughter of Alvin and Millie Jane Southards
Orwick. On Feb. 13, 1933, in Dora, she was married to Farice J. White, who died
June 23, 1972.
Mrs. White owned and operated White's Avenue Cafe on Washington Avenue in
West Plains with her husband. As a young woman, she was saved in the Church of
God.
Surviving are two children, Elven White, of Cole Camp, and Loeta McArthur,
of Lamar; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Eva Frieze; a brother; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Rose Chapel at
Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains. Burial will be in Sweeton
Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the
family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
